Moving to Spain
With its gorgeous costal resorts and fabulous tourist driven economy Spain is the choice for many foreign nationals. If you are moving to Spain Roy Trevor would love to be there with you for the move.
Spain is extremely popular in the Expat arena and by the end of 2005 there were an estimated 4.8 million Expats living there. As mentioned previously Spain is largely tourist driven and if you’re planning on working in Spain you will need to have a contract of work with your employer.
Also remember to note the world famous Spanish Siesta, a two to three hour period each afternoon when work stops and shops close. This is due to the heat of the day and is a heavily entrenched Spanish custom.
Culture
There are many sub cultures that make Spain the country it is. There is Catalonia, the Basque Country and Galicia all linked and part of the history of Spain and has resulted in waring factions between each. There is much more political activity over recent years aiming to dispell this annimosity and of late the infighting has been very quiet making Spain a much safer place.
Property
The costal areas of Spain have more than capitalised on the tourist economy of late and the property market is very progressive. Inner city prices are less inflated than costal areas so there is a good deal to be had if you just look around as prices are starting to pick up again after the global financial crisis of late.
What is included in the service when moving to Spain?
Roy Trevor operate a regular service from Portugal to Spain and Gibraltar in addition to the Balearic Islands.
We offer a full or partial packing service in Portugal or should you prefer to carry out the packing yourselves we can provide you with all necessary packaging materials to do so prior to the removal date.
In Spain we offer a reciprocal service from the Malaga area for clients moving to Portugal.

- Visit you at home to survey the items that you plan to take with you.
- Provide a free written quotation and offer guidance to help you plan your move.
- Wrap and pack your items.
- Transport your goods to your new residence and unload and unpack.
- Collect the packing materials.
The following moving services are available
Direct Load
We pack your items at your home and load them directly onto the vehicle which will transport your goods to your new home in Spain. This service is recommended if it is important that your goods are delivered on a particular date. With a direct load service, you can specify your delivery date.
Part Load
Your personal and household effects will share a vehicle along with other clients also moving to Spain. As we need to take into consideration all the clients whose shipments are traveling on the same vehicle this takes a little longer than a Direct Load. At the start of the move a delivery window is agreed. We will advise you of the scheduled delivery date when it is known. This is a more cost effective service than a direct load and is recommended for people with flexible delivery dates.
What will happen if I cannot take delivery straight away?
We will arrange to store your goods in store until you are ready to arrange delivery to your new property. We offer secure storage facilities with our sister Company in Portugal Malaga in Spain.
